wwwpic5678 England travel to the Netherlands on Friday as Gareth Southgate's side step up preparations for the World Cup.

England come into the game on the back of a pair of 0-0 draws with Germany and Brazil in November, and have not beaten the Oranje since the famous 4-1 win at Euro 96.

Southgate has named a young squad for the latest round of fixtures, including three uncapped players, and the England coach believes his side could be an interesting prospect in Russia.

"We can surprise people, we're a country that at the last World Cup didn't get out of the group and we know what happened at the European Championships," he said.

"The average age of the squad is around 25 so we know that we're a work in progress."

The Netherlands have endured a fall from grace since their third-place finish at the World Cup in 2014, failing to qualify for both Euro 2016 and this year's tournament in Russia. wwwpic5678

But Friday's game will mark former Everton and Southampton manager Ronald Koeman's first game at the helm since he was announced as manager in February.

Team news
England travelled to Holland on Thursday without Jack Wilshere, who has been left at home after picking up a knee injury, while Ryan Bertrand pulled out of the squad earlier in the week with a back problem.

Harry Kane is missing with an ankle injury he suffered for Tottenham in their 4-1 win over Bournemouth, but Jamie Vardy, the squad's only other out-and-out striker, is fit. Southgate also confirmed that Jordan Pickford would start in goal.

Ronald Koeman's first Netherlands squad includes 18-year-old striker Justin Kluivert - son of former striker Patrick - for the first time while Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has been named as the new captain. wwwpic5678

Antonio Conte reminds Chelsea after FA Cup triumph: I'm a serial winner

wwwpic5678 Antonio Conte insists he remains committed to Chelsea - but has reminded the club he is a "serial winner" who will not change. Conte's Chelsea finished a fractious campaign on a high note as Eden Hazard's first-half penalty at Wembley saw them beat Manchester United 1-0 to win the FA Cup. Speculation has been rife that this would be Conte's final game in charge at Stamford Bridge, whatever the result, and while celebrating the triumph, the Italian took the opportunity to remind the Chelsea hierarchy of his achievements in a "difficult" season.

"This season was very difficult for many reasons," Conte said. "I predicted difficulties at the start of the season but we finished fifth and we won the FA Cup. "To miss a place in the Champions League is not good for a club like Chelsea. We must be honest to say this but, at the same time, I think you have to know the real situation - that this group of players did their best. "To finish this season and win an important trophy like this shows great commitment and desire to finish the season in the right way despite the difficulties. wwwpic5678

"Even in a difficult season, I showed I am a serial winner." Conte was pressed further on his future but he stressed his commitment to the club has been unwavering. "I have a contract and I have committed to this club," he said. "Even with the speculation, my position was always the same - I was committed. "I understand that the club can make a decision - positive or negative. It's right that the club demands a lot.

"But after two years, the club knows me very well. If they want to continue to work with me, they know me - I can't change. "My way is always the same: hard work and to build a strong mentality with my players. My past speaks clearly as a player and manager. I'm a serial winner and I showed this in England after a difficult moment for the club. "The decision to appoint me... in two seasons I brought two trophies to this club." wwwpic5678
